Today marks the first anniversary of Rockstar's announcement of the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6). The trailer, released just four days after the announcement on December 5, 2023, gave us our first glimpse of the game, creating a massive buzz among fans of the series.
Since then, over the course of 12 months, the gaming community has been abuzz with speculation about a second trailer. Numerous theories have been circulated within the community, but unfortunately, none have come to fruition. Many assumptions were based on what fans believed were hints from the developers about the release of a second trailer, but as of the time of writing this report, none have materialized.
Now, as the year draws to a close and hope for a second GTA 6 trailer dims, some optimistic fans believe there might still be a chance for it to be revealed at one of the most significant remaining gaming events of 2024, The Game Awards, set to take place on December 12.
Massive Fan Engagement After a Year Since the First Trailer
Today, GTA 6 has taken over social media trends, with wide-ranging discussions fueled by fan-created content, including AI-generated images mimicking the game’s official art. While these are clearly labeled as unofficial, they showcase the growing anticipation and impatience among fans. Many are expressing their hope for an announcement or teaser from Rockstar Games with more details or even a release date for GTA 6 in the remaining days of this year.
However, the only official update about the game in 2024 has been that it is still on track for release in the final quarter of 2025. This was confirmed just a few days ago during Take-Two Interactive's quarterly earnings call.
Until that happens, share your predictions and hopes. Do you think Rockstar will surprise us with something related to GTA 6 before the end of 2024? Or will we move into 2025 without any new updates about the game that millions worldwide are eagerly awaiting?
