No Need to Worry: Indiana Jones and The Great Circle Will Be Denuvo-Free

Recent speculation suggested that Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, developed by Bethesda Softworks and Swedish studio MachineGames, would include the Denuvo protection system, sparking significant controversy on social media platforms.

Denuvo is known as an anti-tamper and Digital Rights Management (DRM) tool developed by the Austrian company Denuvo Software Solutions GmbH.

Journalists from the 80 Level portal noted the previous day that a hidden update for Indiana Jones and The Great Circle on Steam—shared via the SteamDB page—confirmed the presence of the Denuvo system in the game.

With only a few days remaining until the release of Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, some players deemed Bethesda's decision to hide information like the inclusion of Denuvo in the project outrageous.

However, Bethesda Softworks' official microblog responded swiftly to the 80 Level portal's post on the social platform X, confirming that Denuvo is only present in the reviewer version of Indiana Jones and The Great Circle and will not be included in the full release. The company explained that Denuvo was added to the reviewer version to prevent leaks or piracy before the official launch.

The upcoming Indiana Jones game is set to release on December 9 for PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, as well as on Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass "on day one." It will arrive on PS5 in Spring 2025, with reviews of the game set to be unveiled tomorrow, December 6.
